During my stay in Tekong, the one who inspire me a lot is my Platoon Commander. Whenever we have route marches, he will always carry his field pack just as we did and his field pack is always on even when we are resting. During the days when I am sick, he skipped his meal and personally accompanied me to see the Medical officer. When I don't have the group photo, he gave me his copy and kept the small one for himself. There are more that he has done, I would say I have the best commander. If I ever get a chance to be an officer, I want to be like him.
Just before leaving the island, he said to me: Keep your fighting spirit no matter where you go. Got to spend the 10 days of block leave wisely to prepare for a tougher journey ahead of me. =)
