Haha! As I am surfing the net, an interesting idiom (尚善若水)came across my mind. And I did a research on it and found the origin. It originate from Laozi's 《道德经》:
“上善若水,水善利万物而不争,处众人之所恶,故几于道。居善地,心
善渊,与善仁,言善信,正善治,事善能,动善时。夫唯不争,故无尤。”
The English translation is: The highest form of kindness is like water, it benefits all living things yet not compete with any living things for anything, it lies at unpopular places, therefore it is near the way. People with this kind of kindness lives in humble houses, have kindness that is deep as ocean, a friend for everyone (just like water a solvent for many things), his words are always sincere (pure like water), lead systematically (just as water always flows systematically, from stream to river, river to sea and sea to ocean), has the ability to do all things (just like water which have many important functions) and act according to situation (just as water can be different thing in different occasion).
Wow! It is quite cool! I am always amaze by the knowledge and wisdom of the sages=)
